Silver Oak 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Release
Feb 01, 2020
The 2015 vintage will be remembered as producing Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional quality—small berries with great concentration—and low yields. Due to a cool spring that impacted quantity but not quality, the grapes were beautifully bold in both aroma and flavor. Clusters were also long and loose for ideal ripening. The resulting wine is fresh, vibrant and compelling.
Maroon in color with a garnet hue, the 2015 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has an enticing nose of maraschino cherries, blackberry bramble and brisket with notes of clove and star anise. This wine has a juicy entry and a fruity mid-palate with toasted vanilla and roasted brown sugar character from American oak barrels.
February 1, 2020 is the official release of Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, and we can’t wait!
2015 was also a year when Silver Oak increased its commitment to American oak. The family owned winery acquired full ownership of The Oak cooperage in Central Missouri. This allowed its winemaking team to exercise more precise control of our barrel program. Winemaker Nate Weis and his team have since begun hands-on experiments in stave wood aging and barrel toasting.
