9 Holiday Beers To Cheers With This Season
Dec 01, 2019

Anderson Valley Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale
Get cozy this season with Anderson Valley Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale – a hand-crafted “winter warmer” with a deep amber hue and a rich, malty mouthfeel. Hints of toffee, spice and caramel tickle the senses while the smooth, creamy finish will lift your spirits; a perfect beer to share with friends and family during the cold days and long nights of winter.

The Bruery 12 Drummers Drumming
Twelve years in the making, 12 Drummers Drumming is the final release in The Bruery’s 12 Days of Christmas series. Traditionally these beers have been brewed with a Belgian flair, and this celebratory blend combines their bourbon barrel-aged anniversary ale and of course, a Belgian-style Quadrupel ale. Boisterous notes of coffee, dark fruit, caramel and oak character bring this 12-year journey to an extraordinary close.

St. Bernardus Christmas Ale
This is an intense dark beer with a full, slightly fruity taste, full of winter flavors and spicy aromas, that greets the palate with the signature aroma of St. Bernardus’ house yeast strain. Rivaling the complexity of Abt 12, St. Bernardus Christmas Ale offers a spicy, mint-like flavor profile exuding the tastes of warming alcohol, fermented molasses, apricots, licorice, and marzipan that are highlighted by the perfect balance of brewing sugars.

Delirium Noël
Delirium Noël pours chestnut amber with a fine, white, creamy and lacing foam. Complex aromas of caramel malt, fruit, spices and the sweetness of alcohol. Full and luscious bready and biscuit-like malt flavor with mild sweetness, notes of dark fruit, raisins and fig with touches of cherry and chocolate.

Uinta Rise & Pine Hoppy Dark Ale
Juniper and piney hops build the framework for this bold, dark ale from Uinta Brewing. With its assertive bitterness and smooth malt finish, this beer stands tall above the rest.

Dupont Avec Les Bon Voeux
“With best wishes…of the Brewery Dupont” is how the name of Brasserie Dupont’s wonderful holiday offering translates into English. Originally brewed as a gift for their best customers, this incredible beer is considered by some as the finest Dupont offering. Notes of lemon peel, clove and white pepper along with a secondary bottle fermentation offer loads of depth and complexity.

North Coast Cranberry Berliner Weisse
The third offering in North Coast Brewing’s spontaneously soured seasonal Berliner Weisse series, Cranberry-Quince Berliner Weisse is made with the juice of Oregon cranberries and the pear-like quince—the perfect accompaniment for all your autumn celebrations! Influential beer author the late Michael Jackson describes “Berlin White Beer” as having an “insistent sparkle, a fragrant fruitiness in the nose, a sharp, dry palate, and a frisson of quenching, sour acidity in the finish.”

Einstök Icelandic Doppelbock
This winter celebration brew from Einstök is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow whisky finish make this the perfect companion for holiday adventures. Enjoy the caramel sweetness, smooth fullness with a warm finish for your holiday celebrations and long winter nights.

Einstök Icelandic Winter Ale
The holiday spirit of Einstök’s Winter Ale is inspired by the addition of spruce tips (that happen to be hand-picked from the backyard of their brewmaster’s parents’ house). The spruce tips are clipped in the springtime when they are young and fresh, and then meticulously steeped with a proprietary process that brings out all of the subtle flavor possible. From there, a little yuletide magic at the brewery fuses it all together to create this rare and unique ale.
But what makes their Winter Ale so special is all in the barley – grown in the southeast of Iceland, where the cool and concentrated growing season creates wonderful flavors. It is then smoked with birch that is sustainably harvested from Iceland’s largest forest: Hallormsstaður. The native barley is expertly smoked to the brewery’s specifications and standards by the award-winning Icelandic distillers at Eimverk in Garðabær, whose process is designed specifically for fermentation. From farm to glass to your mouth, it’s a wonderful journey.
