Louis Martini Winery Restoration

May 28, 2019

The Louis M. Martini Winery, built in 1933, has completed its full restoration, designed to preserve Martini’s rich history in Napa Valley and continue a legacy of expertise in Cabernet Sauvignon.

Architect Howard Backen’s timeless design features an atrium that draws guests into the building, high ceilings and an open floorplan that seamlessly integrates indoors and out. Martini’s best-in-class hospitality will be showcased with exclusive, elevated experiences. Enhanced private spaces offer a deeper look at the winery’s history and continued devotion to crafting world-renowned Cabernet.

New Rooms

The Tasting Room welcomes guests to the winery with 30 foot high glass walls and views into the new barrel cellar. The design showcases reclaimed materials, including the winery’s original terra cotta wall tiles, juxtaposed against contemporary materials.

The Heritage Lounge features seated, curated tastings and food pairings in an open atmosphere with ample natural light and views into the adjacent Martini Park. The Winemaker’s Table features comprehensive culinary demonstrations from Executive Chef Jeffery Russell.

“Seductive for the supple, juicy mix of blackberry and raspberry flavors, this has jazzy, oaky cedar, vanilla and mocha notes, ending long and focused. Drink now through 2028. 6,200 cases made.” 91PTS Wine Spectator

The 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a distinctly layered wine with notes of ripe dark plum, black currant and sage. Rich and full-bodied, this superbly balanced wine has an expansive mid-palate and an exceptionally long finish. Already displaying a refined profile, this vintage’s well-structured tannins and ample acidity will allow it to age for more than a decade.

The Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon wine reflects the best of the warm, narrow Dry Creek Valley and the hot yet wind-cooled Alexander Valley. Together, these unique features create a rich, superbly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with copious yet supple tannins. Those tannins make the young wine approachable but will still give it enough texture to age gracefully. This wine features concentrated flavors including wild berries, plum, licorice and mocha. The full-bodied and mouth-coating texture on the palate leads to a long and graceful finish.
