Father’s Day Scotch Guide

Whether you’re scrambling to find the perfect Father’s Day gift or wanting suggestions on how to spruce up a retail display, keep reading for some Father’s Day scotch gift ideas.

The first Father’s Day in the United States was celebrated on June 19, 1910 in Spokane, Washington. However, Father’s Day did not become a federal holiday until 1972 when Richard Nixon signed a proclamation during his presidential re-election campaign. Father’s Day became a nationwide holiday 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official and it is estimated that Americans spend over $1 billion each year on Father’s Day gifts.

The Dalmore

The Dalmore Distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands, is known for pushing boundaries and defying conventions in order to create whiskies that stand apart. For instance, a combination of different stills of various sizes are used to produce a stronger and more complex character. The Dalmore’s maturation process is also completely unique and done in two precious wooden casks: American white oak ex-bourbon casks and exclusive aged sherry casks from Gonzalez Byass. The result are scotches that are on the sherried and sweeter side with profiles containing chocolate and orange. Richard Patterson, Master Distiller at The Dalmore for 50 years, has gained a reputation of having created the category of super luxury single malt whisky.

The Dalmore’s dedication to producing unique and stand alone products is reflected in their striking packaging. For example, most scotches come in tubes and when placed on shelves, are not taken out of the box. However when The Dalmore is displayed, the majority of the time it is removed from its box so that people can see how beautiful the bottle is. Because of this, The Dalmore makes a thoughtful gift and can elevate a retail display.

The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve

This specially crafted whisky has been expertly made to be the perfect accompaniment to the finest of cigars. Matured initially in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts, it is then finessed in premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques.

The Dalmore 12 Year

The Dalmore 12 year old, with its intricate aromas and flavors, is recognized as a whisky with character far beyond its age. Matured for an initial nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon cask, the spirit is then divided for its final flourish.
